Strand Leaders – Andrea Sully & Chris Rush
The focus on continuity is clearly needed and the aspects identified at the
conference included, AfL, shared vision, routines, familiarisation, cross-phase
working, clear information for transfer and progression. If the Cluster chose to adopt
‘curriculum’ in terms of ‘everything we say and do’ (Drummond, 1998), then the
Continuity Strand could research and develop all the identified aspects and include work on continuity in
curriculum content and pedagogy from the renewed secondary curriculum and primary review.
The Cluster will work and liaise closely with other Local Authority groups/initiatives to ensure consistency
and to reduce the chance of duplication of effort.
