Strand Leader – Rachael Tucker

I would like to take the opportunity to introduce myself as Strand Leader for the new Language Acquisition and Development Strand. I am very excited about taking a lead with you all on this strand and look forward to working with both old and new colleagues from a wide range of schools. As discussed at the previous planning meetings our focus for the year will be on Phonics, English as an additional Language and Language Acquisition, already my head is buzzing with ideas of what we can do in the first few months. More importantly I am looking forward to talking to you all, as emphasised in the opening quote, our talk and discussion in meetings will enable us to work collaboratively and effectively to influence and inspire our children's language to help them to become confident individuals who make a positive contribution to society.
